The Light Center sponsors two to three fundraising events per year and eagerly welcomes corporate event sponsors and willing volunteers. These annual events generate a large portion of the operating funds of the Light Center, and enthusiastic support of these events is crucial to the ongoing needs of the program. Although the Light Center does charge for its service, program funds do not begin to cover the overhead of maintaining the large animal population. 7 days a week, 365 days a year, these valuable team members must be fed, housed, and diligently cared for. There are no holidays for hungry animals!
This cost, as well as the high cost of maintaining a top-notch instructional team, puts an ever present financial burden on the organization. Add to this the high costs of insurance, farm maintenance, and fundraising; it’s easy to see why your support is so desperately needed.
The Light Center receives no government aid and is proud of its track record in developing and maintaining such a fine program in the midst of ever present financial uncertainty. While active grant writing takes place throughout the year, ongoing support is critical to this success and the Light Center continues to emphasize and promote this need to long range funding sources.
